rinascente (pronounced ree-na-shen-té), meaning ‘rebirth’ in italian, is the name of the creative department of Renewal North West, a charity based in Stockport, Manchester. 

 

rinascente provides valuable work experience and a creative outlet for people coming for help to Renewal North West. Under supervision, trainees can participate in a wide range of constructive projects — including sanding, painting, waxing furniture as well as other forms of arts & crafts.

At rinascente we take unwanted or spoilt pieces of furniture, and by recognising its value seek to restore its beauty and purpose. We aim to provide unique, good quality, attractive furniture that will be treasured for years to come. This ethos is symbolic of the vision that drives Renewal NW – to see lives that are broken, spoilt and ‘worthless’ restored and transformed by God.

It’s a great pleasure & privilege to have customers come into our showroom, and especially to see them get excited about the work we do, and the furniture we sell.  We encourage people visiting us to sit down and take it easy, have a coffee and a chat, and enjoy the creative atmosphere of the place.

When commissioned to create a custom-made table or paint a piece of furniture we are especially concerned that the customer is satisfied with the finished product.  This furniture isn't something we just churn out but an object we have thought about and worked on, with the goal of creating a work of art.  In the same way, we treat every customer as a unique individual with needs, expectations and concerns.  We remember that the furniture they commission will be inhabiting their home and become a part of their lives
